I’ve loved the idea of switching this series to the end of the month so that it’s a true look back on some of my top favorite items from the month, but girl, I have got to get it together! Almost three weeks into March and I’m only now talking about my favorites from February? We’ll get back on track for March, but February’s faves were too good and fun to skip, so let’s go!
l’oréal true match nude hyaluronic tinted serum.
I am a skin tint girlie, who knew!? I was really struggling with my every day make-up look and had been for awhile. And when I broke it down and really tried to figure out what I was hating about it, it really all kind of stemmed from my base. I was previously using liquid foundation and even tried a few different brands and coverages, all with the same conclusion: my skin felt heavy no matter how little product I was using and I felt like it was settling into lines I could barely see on bare skin and making me look about 100. I saw a TikTok recommending this product for cool tone girlies as it’s one of the only base products on the market that genuinely leans cool, so I decided to try – and it was love at first beauty blend! I love that it has hyaluronic acid. I feel like the added moisture makes all the difference in the world – I feel glowier, brighter, lighter… all the good things a thirties girlie wants to feel!
hello kitty island adventure.
If you fell in love with Animal Crossing over the pandemic, congrats on being a cozy gaming girlie! I feel like the idea of cozy gaming has really taken off the last few years. Or rather, cozy gaming always existed (I mean how else do you explain the hours we would spend playing The Sims?), but we finally gave it a cute name and fully leaned into the concept. Pour a delicious cup of tea, set some mood lighting, and sink in for a few hours of catching fish, decorating your little home, picking flowers – no stress, low stakes, just feel good vibes. Hello Kitty Island Adventure is the newest cozy game to hit our consoles and it is so fun. Any game that starts with being accidentally pelted by cupcakes so badly that you have to jump out of a plane to escape is good in my book.
essence flawless skin trio loose setting powder.
Finding my fellow cool toned pale girlies on TikTok has truly been a game changer for me. Pink setting powders really took off last year, but newer to the scene is lavender setting powders. And cool toned girlies? This is our powder color! I’ll admit though, I was hesitant at first, so I wanted to try it on the cheap. This essence setting powder trio caught my eye mostly thanks to the $6 price tag, but also because it was a trio so I figured if I hated the lavender, it wouldn’t be a total loss with two other powders in the container to try. But no losers here – I literally love everything about this powder. Consistency, texture, the shade. And you’re telling me it’s only $6!? Done, sold, will repurchase on empty.
vitamin/pill weekly organizer.
I have bought so many of these over the years. Each one I think is going to be the one to make me start taking vitamins consistently and remember to take my antidepressants every single day. Spoiler alert: not one of them has been, lol. Until I found this weekly pill organizer. The key for me is that each day is its own separate piece that can be removed individually. I am forever the girl frantically running around in the morning three minutes after I should have left already, so being able to snag just that day’s vitamins and pills, pop it in my purse, and run out the door has been so good for me! I also personally did not want one with AM/PM sections because that isn’t a need for me, so this is just very simple and straight forward. They do make a version with the sections though if that’s a need for you!
egg & dart deco switch plate cover.
I found these switch plate covers while working on the design for my bathroom and there’s really not much else to say about them other than I think they’re perfect. I got polished brass, but they come in almost any hardware color you need. The design is simple, but elevated, and it comes in really any variation that you need for your outlets and switches. The Nostalgic Warehouse brand is a go-to for me for hardware – it is pricier, but absolutely worth it in terms of quality and aesthetics. Every good renter-friendly conscious girlie knows that switch plates are one of the easiest ways to add a custom element to your home! This is also why I don’t mind spending a little more money on them, because I can take them with me when I move out and use them in my next place!
